Health policy
The Feelfit exercise programme is only intended for adults aged 18-65 who are not suffering from a serious medical condition. Information provided by Feelfit is limited to advice on exercise and a healthy lifestyle and is not intended to contradict or replace medical advice. Any person who has recently received or is currently receiving any medical treatment should consult their Doctor for medical clearance and we also discourage women who are pregnant, or who have recently given birth and are still awaiting for their post-natal medical check-up from starting new exercise activities.
Please make sure that none of the following statements apply to you before doing any of the recommended activities:
- You have a heart or circulatory condition and you should only do physical activity recommended by a doctor.
- You have felt pain in your chest when you do physical activity.
- In the past you have had chest pain when you were not doing physical activity.
- You lose your balance because of dizziness or you have ever suffered an unexplained loss of consciousness.
- You have a bone or joint problem (for example, back, knee or hip) that could be made worse by a change in your physical activity levels.
- Your doctor is currently giving you treatment for blood pressure, heart condition, diabetes, arthritis or any other condition that may affect your suitability for unsupervised exercise.
- You know of any other reason why you should not do physical activity.
If you answered yes to any of the above statements then you should talk with your doctor by phone or in person BEFORE you start becoming much more physically active or BEFORE you have a fitness appraisal.
